Nazareth, Pa. - Results Sunday (August 29) from the running of the

“Bully Hill Vineyards 100” USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series race at

Nazareth Speedway, with starting position in parentheses, driver, money

won, reason out if any and laps completed:

Nazareth, Pa...…….Tyler Walker of Los Angeles, Calif. finally

found the winners circle in the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series Sunday

afternoon, winning the “Bully Hill Vineyards 100” at the Nazareth Speedway

in his Curb Records/Brown & Miller Plumbing Beast/Mopar.

Walker, who had three previous third-place career finishes,

gave car owner Kasey Kahne his second consecutive Nazareth triumph. Kahne

won last year’s race in a driving role.

“The car was great all day,” Walker said in victory lane. “I

use a little of my tires trying to catch Dave (Steele, the pole winner and

race leader) but a got a run off the last corner by going wide and staying

there. Once I got by it was hard for him to get past me. This has been a

long time coming (his 28th career start). I haven’t finished a race this

year, so I finally finish one and I win. I guess that’s pretty good.”

Steele, of Tampa, Fla., led the first 80 miles of the race

after winning the pole at 135.140 mph. Walker made his winnign move on lap

81 and stayed there until the checkered flag despite pressure from Steele

in the closing laps.

Bobby East of Brownsburg, Ind. finished third ahead of Jay

Drake of Val Verde, Calif. and Dane Carter of Brownsburg, Ind.

Four cautions slowed the race as Walker averaged 103.043 mph

for the 100 miles.

Steele’s victory leaves him with a 100-point lead over Bud

Kaeding, who finished sixth Sunday, going into the September 5 “Ted Horn

100” at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds.

Trailing Kaeding in Sunday’s “top10” were Tracy Hines, Russ Gamester, Eric

Gordon and John Heydenreich.

Allard Repeats at P-ville

by Bill Sullivan, John Padjen Motorsports

PLACERVILLE, CA (8-28-04) - Saturday night marked the 14th a penultimate point race of the season at Alan Padjen's Placerville Speedway Saturday night.  With a total of 91 cars packed in the pit area and a full moon hanging from the hot August sky the evening had its share of what several teams referred to as "strange happenings" when it came down to the campaign for the 2004 track championships.  In the Pacific Sprint division, Stephen Allard of Chico earned his second win of the season while both of the top point runners in the division were unable to complete the feature event. Allard started on the outside of the second row in the 25-lap feature event aboard the Redi-Green Motorsports #1k Junior car that has led him to great success in recent weeks.  At the waving of the green flag, Marc Mackay of Cameron Park used his pole position to take the initial lead only to see it taken way before the completion of the opening lap. Mackay watched second place starter Scott Russell of Placerville steal the lead  on the back stretch while Allard used the third and fourth turns to pass both leaders and take a lead he would never relinquish.  For the remaining 24-laps, Allard dodged his share of close calls in lapped traffic as did Russell who was having one of his best runs in a season of hardships. In the later laps eighth place starter Brad Sweet of Auburn worked his way into the top three with Andy Forsberg of Auburn in tow.  In the closing laps, heavy traffic allowed Allard to distance himself from Sweet and Russell. The final pair of laps saw Russell fade in lapped traffic slightly as Forsberg moved into third where he finished respectively behind Allard and Sweet. Magaruh finished in fourth followed by Billy Wallace, Greg DeCaires and Russell.  "The track was great to race on tonight," said Allard. "I know sometimes the fans think it get a bit too dusty when its like this but from a drivers side this is the kind of track most of us love to race on. There were two grooves tonight to race in. I wasn't sure when was behind me and if they were lapped or not so I had to keep running hard in front. I need to thank the Kumar's for this great team and my whole crew tonight, the car was just perfect."  In the run for the 2004 championship both point leader David Robinson Jr. of Foresthill and Ray Rust of Garden Valley had their problems which sent a dose of luck both good and bad in both driver's direction. Rust was leading the B-main event and did something the 44-year-old veteran rarely does, spun out directly below the glowing full moon and finished in eighth, unable to transfer into the A-feature. However, earning fast time earned Rust bonus points which ultimately kept his championship hopes alive. Robinson started the feature but suffered a broken rear-end in the opening lap to finish 20th.  In one night of competition a driver can earn as many as 55-points and it is estimated that Robinson leads Rust into the final night with an unofficial 20-point lead.  "Talk about a weird night," said 28-year-old Robinson. "How many times have you ever seen Ray Rust just spin out on his own...not often. Then I go out there and break to finish last. If Ray hadn't spun and I broke our point lead would have been gone, it would have been over right there. That's why they call it racing, anything can happen and usually will and now its down to the last race."  Racing resumes next Saturday night with the final championship event of 2004. Pacific Sprints, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks will all be on hand with championship titles still up for grabs. The three regulars will be joined by the Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association.

Haulmark All Star Sprint Results - Lincoln Speedway - Sat. 8/28/04 By Bill

Meyer

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA, 8/28/04 - Fast Freddie Rahmer took advantage of a front row

starting spot and mechanical woes by one of his biggest rivals to claim the

$5,000 top prize in Lincoln's 30-lap All-Star Circuit of Champions X-1R A

main Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway. Rahmer's win, his 10th of the year

in the Pigeon Hills and 26th of 2004 overall, added an exclamation point to

his eighth Lincoln title and seventh in the last eight years. Seven of his

132 wins at the Abbottstown oval have come in All-Star events.

Rahmer's seventh-fastest time coupled with the failure of Chad Kemenah and

Eric Stambaugh to qualify in their heats placed the Joe Harz No.88H on the

outside of row one for the start. He grabbed the lead from polesitter Jim

Siegel at the drop of the green and led the first six laps. But

third-starting Lance Dewease closed on the Miller Brothers/Material Handling

Systems/Media Camping Center mount and drove under Rahmer for the race lead

in turns three and four of lap seven. Dewease took control of the race and

was more than two seconds ahead when disaster struck on lap 15.

The Hamilton Motorsports Manheim Auto Auction/Hank's Performance Products

No.77 came to a stop under the lights in turn three, bringing out the

caution and handing the lead back to Rahmer.

"It looked like Lance had us beat pretty easy tonight, but obviously they

had either drive line or motor trouble," said Rahmer in victory lane. "We

were able to sneak in here...we weren't very good in the feature, I don't

know why, we made some changes after the heat, and it looked like a mistake,

but we still got lucky and right now is just our time."

Rahmer led the rest of the way, crossing .78-seconds ahead of Kenny Jacobs,

the all-time winningest All Star now running for Pa. owners Jim and Sandy

Kline. Fast time trialer Brian Leppo, Niki Young, and 15th-starting Greg

Hodnett completed Posse sweep third through fifth.

All-Star points leader Chad Kemenah crossed sixth, with Josh Wells, Brook

Weibley, Danny Smith, and Jeremy Campbell completing the top ten.

"They're a good group of racers," said Rahmer of the All Stars. "I'd say

Kemenah is one of the best racers in the country, but as long as a Lincoln

regular wins, that's all that matters."

Rahmer's win was his fourth of the week (two at Susquehanna and one at

Williams Grove), and his eighth win in his last ten races at Lincoln.

Siegel brought out the first caution when he lost a right front tire while

running third on lap four. Jeff Busby was uninjured in a flip on turn two of

lap 12. After Dewease brought out the 15th lap caution, a horrific crash

took out four cars on the restart. Brian Montieth hit the outside wall as

the drivers were coming down the frontchute and slid sideways on the track.

Lucas Wolfe vaulted over Montieth's front wheel and flipped several times

across the track in front of the oncoming traffic. Cris Eash rolled several

times as well, and the two flipping cars collected Phil Gressman. Montieth

also came to a stop with front end damage. All the drivers walked away

uninjured, but all four cars were done for the night. At the same time,

three other cars spun exiting turn four. Brock Mayes, Tim Hunter, and

Glenndon Forsythe all ended up facing the wrong way, and Mayes was hauled

off with front axle damage. That reduced the field to 14 cars for the

restart.

The Crown Battery heat fell to Josh Wells, the B&B Products heat went to

Bill Rose, the Engler Machine and Tool heat was won by Tim Hunter and the TP

Wings heat fell to Greg Hodnett. Doug Esh won the University of Northwestern

Ohio B Main. Jeremy Campbell captured the Haulmark Dash and Brian Leppo was

the Huggins Cams Fast Time qualifier over the 33-car field with a one-lap

time of 13.613 seconds (99.170 MPH).
