Quotes

Sammy Swindell

“I was worried at the end with all the extra(caution) laps we ran. It didn’t used to be that all those guys that couldn’t make their tire go the full race could go in and change it. It just means more time it takes and more that we have to run around out there under caution. If these guys can’t figure it out, then they shouldn’t be allowed to come back out. Starting up front meant that we didn’t have to gamble with anything—it’s kind of tougher if you have to try to come from the back. We were 50 pounds over (the minimum weight requirement), but we shouldn’t have to worry about burning all that fuel. I had the car leaned way down under the cautions, and I had to keep riding to brake to keep from hitting the pace car. We just need to do something about letting these guys change tires when they can’t make it last the whole race. Some people may not like it, but that’s my opinion—there it is. We made some changes with some things and got it right tonight, and hopefully we’ll go out and win a few more now.”
