FONDA NEW YORK GUMOUT EVENT TO STEWART Before an overflow crowd and just before the rain hit, Shane Stewart took home the World of Outlaws Gumout Series event Sunday nigiht at Fonda, New York Speedway. Tyler Walker's bad luck was Shane Stewart's break when Walker got a flat tire leading on lap eight.
Wayne Johnson took the lead for one lap before Stewart passed him on lap nine. Stewart's win ties him with Craig Dollansky for the all time Gumout Series feature wins with nine. It was Stewart's second victory of the 2002 season. Johnson would finish second, coming from his seventh starting position, followed by a charging Tyler Walker from the tail to third. Fourth was KSE Hard Charger award winner Craig Keel from his eleventh starting position, with fifth place going to Jason Sides.
