...Steele posted a time of 45.526 seconds for the four laps around the 1/4-mile paved Anderson (Ind.) Speedway oval to edge Jay Drake and 2001 pole starter Jeff Bloom. Drake and Bloom will share the front row with Steele in Saturday night's three-abreast start for the 500-lap race.
Steele's best lap of 11.235 seconds was the best posted during Thursday's qualification session. The top 15 qualifiers are locked into the field, while final round qualifying on Friday will finalize positions 16-33 for Saturday's race. Friday's qualifying is from 1:30-3:30 pm.
