Another epic war at the PAS as fast qualifier Damion Gardner started fifth in the main and went on to score an impressive win. It was Gardner's first ever SCRA victory.
Gardner took the lead from point leader Steve Ostling, briefly lost it back to Ostling in lapped traffic before regaining the lead and waltzing off for the victory. Ostling's second place finish was his third in the last four outing at The PAS (the other finish was a third two weeks ago) Rip Williams passed Mike Kirby on the last lap for third. Great race long battle for fifth between Cory Kruseman and Tony Jones with Kruseman finally taking the spot. Richard Griffin had contact with another car coming off turn two on lap three and spun out. He restarted at the back and came all the way to eighth.
Gary W. Howard, the night's third fastest qualifier, got caught up in the same tangle, but did not get the car repaired for the restart. Michael Hinrichsen flipped between turns three and four as the checkered flag came out. He was uninjured. Adam Mitchell had a tough series of end over end flips in heat two, but walked away uninjured.
Vista Paint will next present the NAPA Auto Parts/Auto Trader Magazines SCRA Sprint Car at The PAS on June 22nd. Joining them will be the California Champ Trucks. The month of June will be "Kid's Month" at The PAS. All kids age 12 and under will be admitted free every Saturday night in June. For more information call (909) 940-0134 or visit The PAS website at
