Barber cuts to Stockton 99 USAC Western Sprint Car win. CASA co-sanction leads to strong car-count. - By Bobby Gerould - August 27, 2005 - Stockton, CA. … Stockton 99 Speedway played host Saturday night to the first ever co-sanctioned USAC Western / CASA Sprint Car event. The hot night of racing was leg two of the Stockton Sprint Car Triple Crown. At the checkered flag, on the quarter-mile paved oval, Tim Barber of San Francisco won the 50-lap feature convincingly driving for Ken Pierson. "The car was a dream to drive", said Barber in the winner's circle. The win placed Barber in the top ten all-time on the USAC Western Sprint Car feature winner's list. His fourth career triumph tied him for ninth with former Pierson pilot Kevin Urton, Todd Ellison and Tony Stewart. (More)

USAC win in Starr Classic is second of season for 'road racer' Tim Barber - By Bobby Gerould - Stockton, CA. - September 4, 2004. …Tim Barber showed again at Stockton 99 Speedway why he could be a force to be reckoned with on the pavement oval track scene. The 'road racer' from San Francisco started Ken Pierson's Eagle #14 outside of the second row and snatched the lead from Greg Anderson on lap three before cruising to a late-night win Saturday. Barber was challenged by Tony Hunt in the final set of turns but slammed the door on the former champion and won his second United States Auto Club Western States Sprint Car feature event. (More)

Tim Barber Christens New & Improved Shasta Raceway Park - By Bobby Gerould - May 8, 2004 - Anderson, CA. …Shasta Raceway Park underwent major improvements during the off-season. A completely reworked west end turn added length to the former 1/3 mile paved oval, making it a faster 3/8's mile. Saturday night, the new layout was tested by the non-wing sprint cars of the traveling Valvoline USAC Western States series. At the end of the 40 lap feature event, San Francisco's Tim Barber emerged as the winner, and the racetrack's debut produced exciting wheel-to-wheel racing. (more)
