Gaunt handles Perris USAC/CRA action - HD Staff - Perris, CA. 04/01/06 - Rickie Gaunt led from start-to-finish in Saturday night's 30-lap feature at Perris Auto Speedway. Cory Kruseman finished as runner-up. Danny Sheridan completed the podium finishers. Kyle Hirst made a rare non-wing start and finished eighth. (Summary)

Gaunt wins second straight USAC/CRA event - By Ken Wagner - Santa Maria, CA. 06/18/05 ..."Super" Rickie Gaunt won his second Valvoline USAC/CRA series race in a row driving the Smiley Crane Service, Extreme Chassis Co., Chargin, Extreme # 2A sprinter at Santa Maria Speedway this weekend. Rickie grabbed the lead from teammate Charles Davis Jr on lap 9 and led the rest of the way. His last win at the scenic facility was in 1991 in a wing car. Gaunt good in Sokola Classic prelim - By Dick Jordan - Phoenix, AZ. 03/18/05 ...Rickie Gaunt of Torrance, Calif., who scored his initial Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint car feature win last November, notched his second Friday night, winning the 20-lap "Sokola Classic" prelim feature at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz. Gaunt passed defending series champion Rip Williams on the second lap and led the rest of the way in his Smiley's Crane Service/Extreme Chassis Chargin/Extreme to beat Williams, series point leader Charles Davis Jr., Josh Ford and Jesse Hockett. The 5th Annual 40-lap "Sokola Classic" main event is scheduled tonight (Sat., March 19) at the 1/2-mile dirt oval. "It's so much fun racing with him," Gaunt remarked in victory lane about his battle with Williams. "We may not have been the fastest out there tonight." Fastest qualifier Damion Gardner failed to finish the 20-lapper after a wall-banging incident.

Gaunt SCRA Star at Tulare - by Robert Mayson TULARE, CA, APRIL 24, 2004 - Running in places where few dared to go, Rickie Gaunt powered his way through some of the roughest parts of the race track and was able beat his teammate Charles Davis, Jr. to the checkered flag Saturday at the Thunderbowl Raceway. The victory was the tenth of Gaunt's NAPA Auto Parts / Auto Trader Magazines SCRA sprint car career and the first for his car owner Tony Smiley. Earlier in the program, Gaunt also blasted the Smiley Crane Service #2A Extreme to his 27th lifetime Arizona Race Mart Fast Time Award. (More)
