Tony Jones Again at Perris - HD Staff - 05/18/02 Lake Perris, CA. ...Four different drivers, Tony Jones, Rip Williams, Damion Gardner and Richard Griffin, all took turns leading the A-main at Perris Auto Speedway Saturday night. But when the checkered flew with the crowd screaming their approval, it was Tony "Love" Jones with his second straight SCRA win. Griffin had a flat tire while running third and had to restart at the back and came to tenth. One the next to last restart, Jones was fifth and he dazzled the crowd with a series of moves that carried him to the checkered flag. Steve Ostling nearly pulled even with him out of the final corner, but for the second straight main event, he took home second place. Gardner edged Williams in a photo finish for third. (summary)

Jones Wins Jeff Bagley Classic - by Robert Mayson VENTURA, CA, MAY 4, 2002 - Tony Jones usually runs well at Ventura Raceway, but until Saturday's Jeff Bagley Classic he had been held without a main event victory at Seaside Park. Putting that demon to rest in a big way, the only thing that prevented Jones from sweeping the race program was a second place finish in his heat race. (story and summary)

Tony Jones is the early SCRA points leader. He is looking to repeat as the cheese winner of the Gary Sokola Classic this weekend at Manzy, (March 15th-16th). With lap money, he earned nearly $8,000 for for last years triumph. Jones won his 11th career SCRA race last Saturday at Perris.
