Madsen beats outlaws at PCR - HD Staff - January 13, 2005 - Sydney, Australia - Parramatta City Raceway played host to night one of the World of Outlaws 'Down Under'. When the checkered flag flew, Aussie Kerry Madsen was first to the finish line; the best of 70 entrants! Danny Lasoski finished second, and Paul McMahan completed the preliminary night podium. Shane Stewart finished fourth, and reigning WoO champion Steve Kinser was fifth on the dirt quarter-mile oval. The night's hard charger, Donny Schatz raced from 13th on the grid to a sixth place result. The top-ten was filled out by Sammy Swindell, Jason Sides, Erin Crocker, and Aussie Max Dumesney.

Notes: Tim Kaeding (Roth #83) finished 13th in the A-Main. ...Joey Saldana (Woodward #2) was 16th. ...Peter Murphy (Wright #35) was 21st. ...Jason Statler (Rudeen #26) ended up 23rd. ...Randy Hannagan (THR #1x) was involved in a violent crash but walked away. ...Dennis Moore Jr. (Williams #0 was 12th in the B-Main. ...Jason Meyers (Elite #14) struggled and finished last in the C-Main.

Madsen Sweeps Outlaws ‘Down Under’ Preliminaries By Richard Day GRANVILLE, NSW, AU (January 9) – Kerry Madsen thrilled his fellow Australians again Friday, winning another Preliminary Feature as the O’Reilly World of Outlaws Series ran the second preliminary program at Parramatta City Raceway. The "Mad Man," who also won the Preliminary Feature on opening night, received thunderous applause from the capacity crowd as he performed a wing dance atop the #A1 Bikebiz Yamaha Cool. "I came in here after last night hoping to just lock in a top-five and – hey – we have done a little more than that," Madsen said in victory lane. "I have to thank my crew and the whole Bikebiz Yamaha team and this racetrack was awesome … you could run anywhere." (read it all)

Kerry Madsen Wins World of Outlaws ‘Down Under’ Opener - By Richard Day GRANVILLE, NSW, AU (January 8) – Kerry Madsen ran the race of his life to beat O’Reilly World of Outlaws champions Steve Kinser and Sammy Swindell under the checkered flag in the Preliminary Feature at Parramatta City Raceway Thursday on opening night of the historic Outlaws ‘Down Under’ event. Madsen, who ranked second in the Knoxville Raceway point standings last season, passed pole-sitter Donny Schatz for the lead and held off the sprint car racing legends for the $5,000 first prize. "This win is as special as anything I have ever done," the emotional Madsen yelled to the partisan crowd from victory lane. "To join these two guys (Kinser and Swindell) on the podium as a winner is something I will cherish forever." (read the whole deal)
