2005 & 2003 - All HammerDown! Team MemberBrooke Tatnell heads home to be with ailing father - Wilmot, WI — Sept. 22, 2006 — By Chris Dolack, VP Public Relations ...Everybody has a hero, somebody they look up to in life. For Brooke Tatnell, that person is his father, George, a legendary sprint car driver in Australia. Having the best year of his career, Brooke battles with the other World of Outlaws competitors night after night, as his dad beams with pride while listening to the race broadcasts through the Internet. That is why this season is especially difficult for Brooke. George suffered a stroke in the spring, just as the World of Outlaws schedule was picking up steam. The news was tough for the Tatnells, but very difficult for Brooke as he was thousands of miles away struggling with whether or not he should return home. He continued to drive the Rush Racing machine on the Outlaws circuit because it’s what his dad wanted. (Read it all)
Tatnell wins Skagit's $25,000 - Alger, Wash.—August 26, 2006—By: Tony Veneziano, WoO Sprint Series PR Director ...Brooke Tatnell is a man of his word. On Friday night after finishing second in the World of Outlaws Sprint Series Preliminary Feature at Skagit Speedway, he said he would be in RacinSoles Victory Lane on Saturday night. He had plenty of motivation entering the event, with it being right in the backyard of his car owners Tim Hanson and Bob Campbell. He also wanted to pull out a win for his crew chief Troy Renfro who had been battling the effects of pneumonia all week, including a stint in the hospital. Also, a check for $25,000 was waiting for the winner at the end of the night. To add even more to the puzzle, the native of San Souci, NSW, Australia suffered a broken left front brake line early in the 40-lap feature on the tight and racy 3/10-mile high-banked track. An open red flag on lap 16 gave Tatnell and his crew a chance to assess the problem on the car. While the team worked on the car, Tatnell sprinted on foot, all the way back across the track to the pit area, to get some parts from the team’s trailer to help aid the crew. (Read it all)
Tatnell Tames I-55 : Picks up Third Win of Season - Pevely, MO—July 8, 2006-by: Tony Veneziano, WoO Sprint Series PR Director ...Once in a while a good luck charm is needed to turn the fortunes around for a driver or team. Brooke Tatnell had already won two races this season, but knew he easily could have had a half dozen or more victories if luck was on their side. Always looking to get a step up on the competition, and to stand out in a crowd, the crew of the Race Outfitters/Castrol Eagle, led by Troy Renfro, brought out their “retro” car for the second time this season on Saturday night at I-55 Raceway, looking for a spark. The white car with the distinctive red stripes down the middle of the top and front-wings, turned many heads in the pit area, then showed on the track that it was not only sharp looking, but ultra fast.
